Inventory Icon Renderer – Blender add-on
A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Inventory Icon Renderer turns the props in your .blend into the item icons a game UI needs. No camera to place: the add-on measures every item and frames it.
What you get
- One PNG per item and size, e.g. Sword_256.png, Sword_128.png, Sword_64.png
- One atlas per size with JSON (TexturePacker hash layout, includes rarity per icon)
- Rarity tiles for Common to Legendary, outline and drop shadow that scale with the icon size
- Views: 3/4, front, side, top or custom; Fit Each or Same Scale
- Rendered once at 2x or 4x and scaled down, so small sizes stay clean
Your scene stays as it was
Items are linked into a temporary scene and never moved. Your scene is restored, also when a render fails halfway.
Requirements
Blender 4.2 or newer. Install as an Extension: Edit › Preferences › Get Extensions › Install from Disk, then pick the ZIP. No extra Python packages. Tested headless on Blender 5.2.2 (Windows) with an automated suite of 109 checks.
Known limits
- Icons are rendered at the current frame; no animated icons
- The atlas is a plain grid; icons are not trimmed or packed
License
GPL-3.0-or-later. You get the full source.
